ESP32-S3-based module designed to read data from USB HID devices and forward it to a microcontroller via I2C, UART or SPI. It enables a USB keyboard, mouse or MIDI controller to be connected without implementing a USB Host stack on the Arduino or ESP32 side. The USB-A port is powered by an onboard boost converter that raises the voltage from 3.3 V to 5 V, while the current available to the connected device is limited to 260 mA. Soldered 333390
The Inputronic BRIDGE module uses the ESP32-S3FH4R2 to handle USB HID devices, including keyboards, mice and MIDI controllers. Data from the USB device can be forwarded to the main microcontroller via I2C, UART or SPI, selected using onboard jumpers. The default I2C address is 0x50, while the UART interface operates at 115200 bps. Events can be read by polling or using an interrupt signal.
Two Qwiic connectors and a 14-pin header provide access to I2C, UART and SPI interfaces, as well as interrupt and reset signals, simplifying integration with development boards and custom circuits. The module operates from a 3.3 V supply, while the onboard boost converter generates 5 V for the USB-A port. Overcurrent protection limits the current drawn by the connected USB device to 260 mA. The board measures 26 x 63 mm, includes two 3.2 mm mounting holes for M3 screws and can be used with the Arduino IDE through the Soldered library.
