About the book

The book was based on a lecture on probability calculus for students of mathematics at the University of Wroclaw. It can also be useful for students of technical faculties and for those who would like to become familiar with the basic concepts and methods of the elementary probability theory.
To understand the content of the book, a basic course in set theory and mathematical analysis is enough; the apparatus used does not include the theory of measure or complex functions.
Each topic is illustrated by examples and tasks placed at the end of the chapters. Almost all tasks are answered, sometimes hints. In the final part of the book there were an additional fifty tasks with answers and a summary of major distributions, their moments and transforms.
