A compact log-periodic antenna designed for measurement and diagnostic applications in the 400 MHz – 8 GHz band. It works well with spectrum analyzers, especially for locating EMI sources and in directional measurements.
The printed log-periodic LDPA antenna is designed to operate in the 400 MHz – 8 GHz band, optimized for size and matching over a wide frequency range. Thanks to miniaturization techniques and precise geometric tuning, the antenna achieves compact dimensions of 27 × 23 cm, allowing convenient use with portable spectrum analyzers such as the tinySA ULTRA. Despite its small size, it offers effective directionality above 1 GHz and decent radiation characteristics in lower bands, though with some decrease in directionality. The antenna is suitable for laboratory, service and measurement applications across a wide frequency range, especially where quick detection of emission sources is required.
