Crowtail- NFC 2.0 is a wireless NFC (Near Field Communication) module based on the PN532 chip, operating at a frequency of 13.56 MHz. The module enables contactless communication as well as reading and writing NFC and RFID tags compliant with popular standards. Thanks to its compact design and compatibility with the Crowtail system, it is ideal for electronic projects, identification systems, automation, and IoT devices. The module is designed for communication via the I2C interface, which is enabled by default, although users can also use UART communication after modifying the board connections accordingly.
The device allows reading and writing of Mifare One 13.56 MHz tags and cards, enabling the creation of access control systems, electronic locks, smart cards, and user identification systems. Thanks to support for P2P (peer-to-peer) communication, direct data exchange between two NFC modules is also possible. The integrated standalone PCB antenna ensures stable wireless communication while maintaining compact module dimensions. The maximum NFC tag detection range is up to 28 mm and depends on the size of the antenna used. The module supports ISO14443 Type A and Type B standards, increasing compatibility with a wide range of devices and tags available on the market. The module can be used in educational projects, smart devices, building automation, and security applications.
