The board features the Raspberry Pi Foundation's RP2040 microcontroller and the WizFi360 module, which provides 2.4GHz WiFi communication over 802.11 b/g/n.
The RP2040 is a microcontroller equipped with two ARM Cortex M0+ cores clocked at 133 MHz, 264 kB of RAM and 30 ports with I2C, SPI, UART and USB interfaces. It has a 2MB external Flash memory connected via a QSPI interface with eXecute In Place (XIP). The chip can be programmed in C/C++ or microPython.
WizFi360 is a low-cost and low-power industrial-grade WiFi module. It complies with the IEEE802.11 b/g/n standard and supports SoftAP, Station and SoftAP+Station modes. The transmission speed of the serial port can be up to 2Mbps to meet the requirements of various applications.
All leads of the WizFi-EVB-Pico are directly connected to the GPIO of the RP2040. The module has the same pinout as the Raspberry Pi Pico board except for GPIO4, GPIO5, GPIO6, GPIO7, GPIO20, which are connected to WizFi360 on the board. These pins enable communication through the UART interface with WizFi360 and use the Wi-Fi function.
