The board features the RP2040 microcontroller designed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The chip has two ARM Cortex M0+ cores running at up to 133 MHz and 264 kB of RAM. The microcontroller is not equipped with flash memory, but there is a 2MB external memory on the board connected via the QSPI interface.
In addition to the RP2040 chip and flash memory, the user has a 3.3 V voltage stabiliser, Boot buttons, a microUSB connector for powering and programming the module, and GPIO outputs where paraphernalia such as 12-bit ADC inputs, PWM, I2C, SPI and UART interfaces have been derived.

The module features the W6100 chip, which communicates over an SPI interface, has an embedded TCP/IP stack and supports protocols such as TCP, UDP, IPv6, IPv4, ICMPv6, ICMPv4, IGMP, MLDv1, ARP, PPPoE. The module supports 8 independent sockets simultaneously with 32KB memory and has an internal memory of 16 kilobytes for TX/RX buffers.
The W6100-EVB-Pico pinout is directly connected to the GPIO of the RP2040. The module has the same pinout as the Raspberry Pi Pico board, but GPIO16, GPIO17, GPIO18, GPIO19, GPIO20, GPIO21 are connected to the W6100.
The platform supports the C/C++ programming language. Programs can be uploaded to memory via USB interface or via SWD connector.
