Description
The Arducam Mini 5MP Plus OV5642 is an enhanced version of the popular Arducam-M-5MP camera module, offering improved performance and extended functionality. It allows developers to add camera capabilities to low-cost microcontrollers that lack a native camera interface and supports connecting multiple cameras to a single controller.
By using SPI for image data transmission and I2C for sensor configuration, the module significantly reduces hardware and software complexity. It supports JPEG compression, single and burst shooting modes, buffered readout, low-power operation, and short video clip recording.
The camera is compatible with a wide range of platforms, including Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP8266, STM32, Chipkit, and BeagleBone Black, as well as MCU, ARM, DSP, and FPGA-based systems that provide SPI and I2C interfaces. Interchangeable M12 or CS mount lenses allow easy customization of the field of view and enable infrared-sensitive applications when used with suitable lenses.
