About the book

The book is a practical guide to the applications of the Profibus DP network interface in industrial automation systems, in communication with intelligent drive controllers. The aim of the authors was to facilitate the readers' independent implementation in the SIPART DR24 controllers and MICROMASTER 440 frequency converters in cooperation with the VIPA 300S and SIMATIC S7-300 PLC controllers. The book contains basic information about the devices used in the presented examples and a set of their sample applications. All examples were selected to illustrate how to exchange data between them and checked practically.
The book is intended for engineers designing automation systems and students of technical faculties interested in the practical use of the Profibus DP interface in their applications.
