The camera module with the IMX378 sensor is an advanced device offering a high resolution of 12 MP (4056x3040) with a Rolling Shutter. The sensor size is 1/2.3" (11.0 mm) with a pixel size of 1.55 μm, providing detailed images in various lighting conditions. The field of view of this sensor is 81° DFOV / 69° HFOV / 55° VFOV, making it suitable for wide-angle applications. Supported resolutions include 4056x3040, 30 FPS at full resolution, as well as cropped resolutions such as 3840x2160, 30 FPS and 1920x1080, 60 FPS. Additionally, the module supports scaled and binning modes, such as 1352x1012, 52 FPS and 2024x1520, 85 FPS, offering flexibility for image quality in various applications.
The camera module features an FFC connector, ensuring easy integration with various systems. The ISP (Image Signal Processor) functions include algorithms for Auto Exposure, Auto White Balance, and Auto Focus, and it allows manual adjustments for exposure, gain, and white balance. In manual mode, the minimum exposure time is 5 μs, with the maximum exposure time depending on the chosen resolution and frame rate.
In automatic mode, the minimum exposure time is 106 μs, and the Anti-Banding function helps reduce flickering under artificial lighting, improving image quality in various lighting conditions. The Anti-Banding mode offers settings like OFF, 50 Hz, and 60 Hz, allowing optimization of exposure depending on the power supply frequency. The IMX378 camera module is an excellent choice for applications in surveillance systems, robotics, automotive cameras, and wherever high image quality, flexible settings, and reliability in various lighting conditions are required.
