Description
Module with TRRS (Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve) connector used in various audio and communication devices. It is often used in situations where stereo sound and an additional contact for microphone input are needed, e.g. headsets for mobile phones. They can also be useful for low speed data transmission with power, ground and two data lines. There are not only four TRRS pins on the board, but also two outputs that can be used to automatically switch from the built-in speaker to headphones when plugged in, or to detect when headphones are not inserted to turn off or mute.
