Description
The LED ring Adafruit NeoPixel Ring 16 × 5050 WWA contains 16 individually addressable NeoPixel 5050 LEDs arranged on a circular PCB. The WWA version provides three light tones: warm white, cool white and amber, making it suitable for decorative lighting, indicators and projects requiring adjustable white-light characteristics.
Each LED includes an integrated driver, allowing individual control of every light point through a single data line. Multiple rings can be daisy-chained by connecting the data output of one module to the input of the next, allowing a larger number of LEDs to be controlled from a single microcontroller pin.
The module operates from a 5V DC supply. Each LED uses approximately 18mA constant-current drive. NeoPixel communication requires precise timing, so the manufacturer recommends a real-time microcontroller. The Adafruit NeoPixel library provides support for Arduino-based projects.
The ring measures approximately 44.3mm in outer diameter, about 3.1mm thick and weighs approximately 5.5g. Its compact form makes it suitable for control-panel illumination, indicators, wearable electronics, models and compact lighting installations.
