the RPI-1040 is an optical surface mount 4-way detection sensor consisting of an IR LED and two phototransistors. The 3.1 x 3.1 x 0.8 mm package - the thinnest in the industry - includes a novel light shield that ensures silent operation, avoiding noise frequently exhibited by other designs during rotation. In addition, the tilt sensor is not susceptible to vibration or external energy (RF, magnetic) fields. Ideal applications include orientation/fall/shock detection and image rotation.
