Pololu MP engine with 250: 1 6V transmission and a double-sided shaft

Description

The Pololu DC engine is equipped with a metal transmission gear ratio 250: 1. The motor of the set is designed for supplying 6 V and generates a torque of 3 kg * cm (0.3 Nm). The current consumed by the unloaded motor is about 40 mA, while the maximum current drawn under the load is 700 mA.

The motor has an extended shaft on the opposite side of the motor, allowing easy mounting of the encoder or other shaft position sensor. In this set, the manufacturer used the MP series motor, which means that it is equipped with classic brushes made of plaques. An alternative is the HPCB series of motors and gearboxes , which are equipped with carbon brushes. The gearbox has a D-shaped output shaft with a diameter of 3 mm, which simplifies the assembly of the further part of the drive system.
