The SparkFun Cryptographic Development Kit is a cryptography kit that allows you to learn the basics of cryptographic authentication and how to use the ATECC508A cryptographic co-processor feature to increase the security of your projects.
The kit includes two Qwiic Cryptographic Co-Processor Breakout modules with a cryptographic coprocessor based on the ATECC508A chip. They allow you to add strong authentication security to an IoT node or embedded system. They come with a unique 72-bit serial number and include several security features that prevent physical attacks on the device itself or logical attacks on data being transferred between devices. The chip is unable to encrypt and decrypt data. However, it can perform several cryptographic authentication processes, such as creating a secure private key, securely storing keys, and creating and verifying digital signatures.
The ATECC508A chip is capable of performing many cryptographic processes, including but not limited to:
The kit also includes SparkFun RedBoard Artemis evaluation kits with a Bluetooth 5.0 Sparkfun Artemis module designed to be Arduino UNO compatible. They have a USB C connector for powering and programming the kit. The board also has a USB-UART converter, a microphone connected to the PDM interface of the microcontroller and a JTAG debugging connector.
Together with the kit, the user receives two USB A to C cables, two flexible Qwiic cables with a length of 50 mm and 10 M-M connecting cables.
