All batteries do not like deep discharge. Some of them, when fully discharged, significantly reduce the capacity and a few times deep discharge and leaving the battery in this state can mean a complete loss of capacity. This applies especially to acidic batteries, including popular gel ones.
Presented simple system automatically disconnects the load when the battery voltage drops below 9.5V. The executive element is the MOSFET transistor, which, without a heat sink, enables operation with loads up to 3A.
