DDS is a completely digital method of direct synthesis of analog waveforms from DC to several hundred megahertz. DDS circuits that integrate in their structure all the blocks necessary for signal generation have become an alternative to analogue synezers based on phase-locked loops, providing very fast tunability in a very wide frequency range.
