Computer communication with the outside world takes place through ports. The presented set is a module connected to the USB connector and equipped with a number of universal output lines. They can be used to control any external devices as well as to acquire signals for a computer.
The card uses an integrated USB-RS232 converter connected to a processor equipped with four I / O ports. Three of them are digital lines (2x 8 bits + 1x6 bits), the fourth is an analogue port and it is configured as an 8-channel A / D converter input. It can work independently with input signals from 0-5 V or for more accurate measurements with a reference source located on the PCB.
All this means that the card is a universal complement to every computer and enables a significant extension of the control capabilities of devices and external processes.
