Description

Durable, all-terrain chassis with 4-wheel drive from Dagu Electronics. It has been designed to navigate rough terrain and steep grades, making it the perfect platform for any robot that needs to perform tasks in a harsh environment. The design is equipped with four DC motors with brass brushes and 34:1 steel gears that drive large wheels with a diameter of 120 mm. The unique 'super-twist' suspension system keeps each wheel in contact with the ground, ensuring maximum traction even when driving on uneven or bumpy surfaces. The suspension can be adapted to different loads and conditions. The housing is made of corrosion-resistant 2mm anodized aluminum plate, all nuts, bolts and screws are stainless steel, and the brass mounts and suspension springs are nickel-plated. At 7.2 volts, the chassis reaches a top speed of around 7 km / h, and each engine has a torque of around 5 kg-cm.

The aluminum chassis plate has 4 mm holes spaced every 10 mm for easy installation of control electronics, sensors and additional equipment. The baffle in the chassis is designed to hold the 7.2V sub-C batteries that are commonly used in RC cars. These compartments hold two such batteries. The inside of the case also includes convenient screw terminals for connecting the battery leads and engine controller.

Dagu Wild Thumper is a chassis with a differential drive, which means that turning is done by driving the motors on both sides of the platform at different speeds. The three motors on each side of the robot are connected in parallel, so only two control channels are needed to run the landing gear. The motors are designed for a maximum rated operating voltage of 7.2 V (minimum 2 V), with a maximum current consumption of 6.6 A.
