On the Internet, you can find a lot of amateur designs of resistance welders for joining small metal components and fixing terminals to batteries. All these designs are based on a transformed transformer from a microwave oven that can be purchased for pennies from electronic scrap or obtained from worn out equipment. The transformer from the microwave has enough power for such applications, approaching 1 kW, and it can be easily and cheaply transformed from a version supplying high voltage required by the welding machine.
The device is especially valuable for modellers and people interested in renewable energy, it allows for welding of battery packs.
Project AVT 5553 EP 10/16
Attention!
The set does not include a transformer from the microwave oven.
