X-NUCLEO-IKS01A3 is a shield with MEMS sensors: an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a magnetometer, a pressure, humidity and temperature sensor. Shield is designed to work with plates from the STM32 Nucleo family. Sensors use I2C interface for communication.
