The alarm detects a voltage drop when the interior or car boot lights are turned on. To ensure correct operation, the alarm is equipped with a number of signaling devices, eg a pulsing LED, informing about the alarm being activated after the set time elapses before leaving the car, a buzzer that the alarm is turned on and should be turned off. The alarm can be turned off automatically, the ignition switch or by remote control.
