8-channel expander module of I/O ports controlled by the I2C interface. It is based on the PCF8574 chip which has no pin direction register and you cannot set pins as input or output - instead each pin has two possible states. The maximum output current should not exceed 20 mA, and the pins are compatible with voltages of 3.3 V and 5 V. The module has 3 address jumpers that allow you to select 8 different addresses, so you can connect up to 8 modules to one I2C interface. Communication takes place via the I2C interface (STEMMA QT connector). Full documentation is available on the product page.
