The KAmodRPi5 DAC module with PCM5102 chip provides high-quality digital-to-analog audio conversion from I2S signals. Suitable for Raspberry Pi audio projects and as a standalone DAC in systems using I2S audio transmission.
Digital-to-analog audio converter module based on the PCM5102 chip, designed for use with Raspberry Pi 5, 4, and 3 single-board computers. It communicates via the I2S interface through the 40-pin GPIO header, which also supplies the +5 V power. The stereo audio output is available through a standard 3.5 mm jack socket. The module supports PCM signal playback in I2S or Left-Justified formats with resolutions of 16, 20, 24, or 32 bits and sampling frequencies from 8 kHz to 384 kHz. An integrated audio PLL generates the SCK signal from BCK without requiring an external oscillator. The output delivers a 2.1 V RMS signal without a DC-blocking capacitor. The module can be powered directly from the Raspberry Pi or used as a standalone external DAC with any I2S-compatible audio source, such as an S/PDIF receiver. Analog and digital sections are powered separately using low-noise MIC5209 3.3 V voltage regulators, enhancing signal isolation.
