The OpenMV Cam RT1062 is a compact, energy-efficient module featuring a camera and microcontroller designed for easy implementation of machine vision applications. OpenMV Cam is programmed using high-level Python scripts (via the MicroPython operating system), greatly simplifying the handling of complex machine vision algorithms and high-level data structures. The software provides full control over the OpenMV Cam and its I/O pins in Python, enabling easy triggering of photos and video recordings based on external events, as well as executing machine vision algorithms.
This module is equipped with an RT1062 ARM 32-bit Cortex®-M7 processor operating at 600 MHz, achieving an impressive 1284 DMIPS, ensuring high computational performance. It has a total of 33 MB of RAM, including a 32 KB stack, 480 KB for data, and a 32 MB frame buffer. Additionally, it features 512 KB of SDRAM cache and 16 MB of Flash memory, comprising 256 KB for the bootloader and 3.768 MB for firmware, allowing flexible data management and quick access to key resources. The processor supports various image formats such as grayscale, RGB565, and JPEG, with maximum resolutions of 2952x1944 (5 MP) for all types.
The camera features a lens with a focal length of 2.8 mm and an aperture of F2.0, providing excellent optical performance. With a 1/3" format and a wide field of view, the camera is ideal for applications requiring a broad frame. Additionally, the M12 mounting and infrared filter provide extra flexibility in applications, allowing customization of the camera for different lighting conditions and project requirements.
