Description

The ArduCam B024001 camera module features a 12.3MP Sony IMX477 CMOS image sensor, allowing still images to be captured at resolutions up to 4056 x 3040 pixels. The sensor has a 1/2.3" optical format and a 7.9mm diagonal active area. It uses back-side illuminated (BSI) technology and pixels measuring 1.55 x 1.55µm. Each pixel has approximately twice the area of those in the IMX219 sensor used in the Raspberry Pi Camera Module V2, improving image capture capabilities in low-light conditions. The camera is suitable for surveillance systems, image processing projects, robotics, object recognition, time-lapse photography and Raspberry Pi-based devices.

The B024001 supports interchangeable C- and CS-mount lenses, allowing the optics to be selected according to the required field of view and observation distance. The design includes adjustable back focus and a 1/4"-20 tripod mount. An integrated IR-cut filter limits infrared light reaching the sensor, making the camera suitable for visible-light imaging. Supported video modes include 2028 x 1080 at 50fps, 2028 x 1520 at 40fps and 1332 x 990 at 120fps.

The camera connects to the host computer through a MIPI CSI interface. It supports Raspberry Pi 5, Raspberry Pi 4B, Raspberry Pi 3, Raspberry Pi Zero and selected Compute Module boards. The kit includes two 300mm FFC ribbon cables: 15-pin to 15-pin and 15-pin to 22-pin, allowing connection to different CSI connector configurations. The module uses drivers available in Raspberry Pi OS and supports software based on libcamera and rpicam. The camera board measures 38 x 38mm.
