The module protects the load against reverse polarity to -60 V and blocks the flow of reverse current to the power supply. It uses the LM74700-Q1 ideal diode controller and a MOSFET transistor. Thanks to its low impedance (1.5 mΩ), it supports currents up to 25 A continuous and 50 A transient, providing reliable protection and the possibility of easy assembly. Pololu 5389
The Pololu Reverse Voltage Protector is a compact solution designed to protect connected loads from reverse voltage polarity of up to -60 V. By utilizing an ideal diode controller LM74700-Q1 and a MOSFET transistor, the device operates within a voltage range of 4 V (3.2 V after startup) to 60 V. When the voltage is correctly connected, the module allows free current flow. However, in the case of incorrect polarity, it blocks the voltage and protects the circuit from damage.

The device features an extremely low power path impedance of approximately 1.5 mΩ, enabling continuous current flow of up to 25 A and peak currents of up to 50 A for several seconds. The protection mechanism operates in a bidirectional manner, meaning the module not only blocks reverse input voltage but also prevents current backflow from the load to the power source.

The module includes large mounting holes that allow the connection of 14 AWG wires or the use of 5 mm pitch screw terminals. Additionally, smaller holes with a 2.54 mm pitch enable the soldering of standard pin headers. The bottom of the board also features pads for optional transient voltage suppression (TVS) protection, enhancing system resistance against sudden voltage spikes.
