The Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) method is a modern signal generation technique, completely based on digital technology. It allows for easy and precise modification of the parameters of generated signals, and thanks to innovative solutions requires the use of an ever smaller number of discrete elements, and analogue paths cooperating with integrated synthesizers are also becoming simpler.
The book presents the elementary theoretical foundations of digital signal synthesis, merged DDS generators available on the market, their capabilities, control method, and examples of complete solutions tested by the author were presented. The book is intended for practicing electronics, who want to learn the basic practical issues related to the use of integrated DDS synthesizers in applications, learn how to use them programmatically, as well as familiarize themselves with unfavorable phenomena occurring in poorly designed systems using DDS.
