Description
The Nordic Thingy:91 NRF6943 development platform is built around the nRF9160 SiP featuring an Arm Cortex-M33 core, an integrated LTE-M and NB-IoT modem, and a GNSS receiver. An additional nRF52840 device with an Arm Cortex-M4F core provides Bluetooth Low Energy and NFC connectivity. This combination enables the development of IoT devices that utilize both long-range cellular communication and short-range wireless connectivity. The platform is well suited for GPS trackers, asset monitoring systems, telematics devices, and Smart City applications.
The board integrates multiple sensors for measuring temperature, humidity, air quality, atmospheric pressure, ambient light intensity, and color. Additional features include a low-power accelerometer, a high-G accelerometer for shock and impact detection, a programmable user button, RGB LEDs, and a 1440 mAh Li-Po battery. Support for the nRF Connect SDK enables rapid development of applications utilizing the communication, positioning, and sensing capabilities available on the platform.
