WIZnet W5500 - Ethernet TCP/IP controller

Description

The W5500 is an Ethernet TCP/IP controller that enables easier Internet connection for embedded systems using the SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) bus. The W5500 best suits users needing stable Internet connectivity, using a single chip to implement the TCP/IP stack, 10/100 Ethernet MAC and PHY. The TCP/IP stack supports TCP, UDP, IPv4, ICMP, ARP, IGMP and PPPoE. The W5500 uses an internal 32 KB buffer as memory for data transmission.

Using the W5500, users can implement the Ethernet application they need using a simple socket program instead of operating a complex Ethernet controller. It is possible to use 8 independent hardware sockets at the same time. SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) ensures easy integration with an external MCU - W5500 supports transmission speeds up to 80 MHz, so users can implement high-speed network communication. Additionally, to reduce system power consumption, W5500 provides WOL (Wake on LAN) and sleep mode.
