Description
Original Prusa MMU3 Enclosed - Full Kit is an expansion for the Prusa CORE One+ printer enabling multi-color and multi-material printing using a single nozzle. The system allows up to five filaments to be loaded at the same time and automatically switches between them during a single print without manual intervention.
The module has been optimized for speed, efficiency and waste reduction. A filament change typically takes 35-45 s, which significantly reduces total print time in projects requiring hundreds or thousands of tool changes compared to competing single-nozzle systems. Excess material generated during color changes is directed into a compact wipe tower positioned at the edge of the build plate.
The Enclosed version includes a modified top cover with a PTFE tube feed-through, allowing the Prusa CORE One+ printer to remain fully enclosed. This solution helps maintain stable temperature conditions when printing materials that require a controlled environment.
The filament feeding system uses a cartridge buffer and an optimized material path leading to the module mounted on top of the printer and then to the extruder. This arrangement minimizes resistance and reduces the risk of filament tangling. Bidirectional firmware communication with the printer enables automatic diagnostics, error reporting on the LCD screen and independent control via the printer menu or the module’s hardware buttons.
MMU3 is fully compatible with PrusaSlicer and EasyPrint. The software allows color assignment to individual parts of the model, supports wipe-to-infill and wipe-to-object functions and optimizes material usage. The interlocking feature improves bonding between different colors or materials, increasing the strength of the interface. For maximum efficiency and reduced waste, the use of a standard nozzle is recommended instead of a high-flow version.
