The signaling device is designed mainly for monitoring the soil moisture of plants grown in pots. The basis of its operation is the fact that water is a good guide. This means that the moist soil conducts well and the drying one becomes an insulator. Earth resistance is measured using a pair of pointed electrodes that are placed in a pot. The measurement takes place continuously and when the soil dries up, the system triggers sound signaling that reminds of the 'desire' of plants.
