OAK-1 MAX is a high-performance AI camera with a 32 MP resolution, offering on-device neural network processing and computer vision capabilities. This enables high-resolution image capture, the ability to run custom AI models, and perform complex image analysis tasks. The camera uses USB-C for both power and USB3 connectivity, ensuring fast data transfer.
The device is powered by the RVC2 architecture, which provides 4 TOPS of computational power, with 1.4 TOPS allocated to AI tasks. OAK-1 supports all AI models, including custom architectures after conversion. The camera allows video encoding in H.264, H.265, MJPEG formats at 4K/30FPS or 1080P/60FPS resolutions. For computer vision, the camera offers distortion correction, resizing, cropping, edge detection, and feature tracking. The object tracking feature enables 2D tracking using the ObjectTracker module. Power consumption depends on the load, with a maximum usage of up to 5W. The Auto-Focus version, featuring an electromagnetic lens, dynamically adjusts the focus position, making it ideal for capturing objects at varying distances.
The camera is housed in a durable aluminum casing with a front panel made of Gorilla Glass, ensuring high durability. It also features a standard 1/4" mounting thread for easy tripod attachment. The camera uses a USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen1, 5 Gbps) for both power and data transfer. Energy consumption depends on the features in use. Basic power consumption during video streaming is between 2.5W and 3W, with additional power demands for AI subsystems, stereoscopy, and video encoding, resulting in a maximum of 5W. Reducing the frame rate can further decrease power consumption by lessening the load on various subsystems.
