Matrix display module with a Raspberry Pi Pico W board. The display is controlled by an RP2040 microcontroller equipped with two ARM Cortex-M0+ cores operating at 133 MHz, 264 kB RAM and 2 MB of external QSPI Flash memory. Additionally, the board is equipped with the Infineon CYW43439 chip, which extends the board with WiFi wireless connectivity.
The display has built-in 256 RGB LEDs in a 16 x 16 arrangement with individual color and brightness control, which are controlled using FM6047 LED drivers. The use of the RP2040 chip allows you to display images at a frequency of 300 frames per second with 14-bit precision. The board also includes a 3.2 W mono amplifier MAX98357 communicating via the I2S interface, which allows you to connect a 1 W loudspeaker and generate sound effects. Additionally, it is equipped with a phototransistor for detecting light intensity and 9 touch user buttons.
The module is powered and programmed via the USB micro-B port. Additionally, it has two Qw/ST connectors (Qwiic/STEMMA QT) dedicated to connecting additional elements (e.g. sensors) and a JST-PH connector for connecting batteries. The display is easy to use and allows you to quickly create effective animations with a simple user interface and Internet connection.
