Description

Raspberry Pi B + is a single board computer with Broadcom BCM2835 processor clocked at 700 MHz with ARM1176JZF-S core. The RAM memory has a capacity of 512 MB. The computer is an extension of the B model , new features include:

  • New goldpin connector - 40 pins instead of 26 ..
  • 4 USB ports instead of 2
  • Micro-SD socket instead of SD
  • Lower power consumption
  • Better audio quality
  • New arrangement of elements

The computer does not have built-in mass storage, hence the need to use a micro-SD card . The card should contain an image of the operating system (downloadable from the Raspberry Pi website, for example), you can also buy a pre-made card with the operating system . Available Linux runtimes for Raspberry Pi include:

  • Raspbian (based on Debian)
  • Pidora (derivative of Fedora)
  • OSMC
  • Openelec

Power

To power the Raspberry Pi, use a power supply with a capacity of min. 700 mA, which should be enough to work without the attached USB devices, otherwise we recommend a more powerful power supply (1.5..2.0 A).
