Infrared sensor module with TCRT5000 chip. The sensor is a reflection optocoupler that can be used to detect objects in close proximity or detect lines in "Line Follower" robots, it also works well for detecting the edges of a board or table for small circular robots. The module includes a Schmitt trigger, thanks to which the use of the sensor is limited to reading the output status, which informs about the sensor status.
