About the book

In the last 10 years, there has been a real explosion of research into fuzzy modeling methods and their applications for control, diagnostics, decision support, optimization, pattern recognition and other purposes. The attractiveness of fuzzy modeling results from its affordability, a simple mathematical apparatus and the high efficiency of the obtained models. Thanks to this, it can be used both for solving simple industrial problems as well as the most complicated scientific problems, whose methods previously unknown could not be solved. The presented book has the character of an advanced introduction to the issues of fuzzy modeling and one of its main applications: fuzzy control. It is based on the latest knowledge in this field, although due to the huge number of appearing publications, it was necessary to focus on the most important items. Although the title has the word "control", the book can be successfully used not only by specialists from this, but also from any other field requiring the modeling of objects, processes and systems, eg economics, medicine, agriculture, meteorology and others. This book can also be used by students of such majors as, for example, Informatics, Automation, Robotics, Electronics, where the methods of modeling and fuzzy control are increasingly being introduced as a lecture subject.
