SAFE HALOGEN LIGHT SWITCH - PLATE

Halogen bulbs are relatively easy to destroy when switched on, because they then draw a very high current (even several times greater than the rated one). This causes the filament to burn out and the entire element has to be replaced. This situation can be avoided by using the presented set. Its operation consists in a short-term limitation of the current flowing into the halogen at the moment of its switching on. As an executive element, high power MOSFET is used. Because the system works very briefly, the power lost in the transistor is relatively small so that the element does not need a heat sink. The whole switch is assembled on a small plate and easily fits directly next to the halogen bulb holder.
