USB IRDA CONVERTER - PRINTED PLATE
The operation of the converter is not complicated and is based on the emulation of the COM port to which the pulse forming system and the infrared transceiver are connected. Infrared signals are formed into short pulses, which increase the range, while reducing the average value of current consumed. The simplicity of the USB <-> IrDA interface was obtained using three specialized systems: FTDI USB <-> COM FT232BM converter, RS232 / IrDA TOIM4232 converter (responsible for pulse formation) and the integrated Vishay TFDS4500 transmitter / receiver.
Recommendations: The device is useful for owners of modern mobile phones, electronic notebooks, portable printers and computers, as well as users of other devices equipped with the IrDA interface.
The printed circuit board and documentation are included.
