Multimedia remote, i.e. the layout and principles of implementing HID USB devices whose cooperation with a computer does not require installation of any drivers.
To make the receiver - a USB adapter you can use the AVR microcontroller ATMEL and the V-USB library: www.obdev.at/products/vusb/index.html
Our adapter will present itself to the computer as a HID device, as a multimedia keyboard, which, after all, has buttons for controlling the media. It will not be possible to write drivers for a given computer or operating system, and when writing a program for the processor of the adapter, we will use the ready-made V-USB library and other ones used to decode the pilot's signals.
All information, what can you do? device, is included in the HID descriptor. It is easier for the beginner to modify an existing file than to create from scratch. This is facilitated by the HID Descriptor Tool available at http://www.usb.org/developers/hidpage/. The given page also has the HID specification, available as a PDF file.
