Everyone knows how to create unusual constructions using LEGO, but not everyone realizes that you can make moving vehicles and models including landing equipment and flaps that slide out and hide. You can even build working robots without using Mindstorms elements and programming. In this book, Mark Rollins shows how to use LEGO components and Power Functions, such as motors and remote controls, to build cars with engine, off-road vehicles or construction machines, such as cranes and forklifts, and even airplanes. As a result, we will learn how to create unique, joyful creations in LEGO.

LEGO Technic constructions are similar to Mindstorms in the sense that we can create all kinds of cars and gadgets. However, unlike Mindstorms, we do not have to learn programming. Power Functions techniques allow us to add motors, remote controls and battery containers for LEGO projects without the need for programming. And although we could simply build a LEGO Technic gadget from a ready-made set, using this book we will learn the principles of designing the structure and we will get to know the ideas that can be used in our own projects.

LEGO Technic's book in practice includes:
  • The basics of designing motor vehicles that drive and can be controlled.
  • Tips for the construction of headlights and the use of the Power Functions Light Kit.
  • Designing the suspension used in off-road vehicles.
  • Assistance in the construction of working machines, including a crane and forklift.

What can you learn?
  • Place the engine in every LEGO vehicle and run it; the construction of the wheels that rotate and the chassis components that come out and retract.
  • Construction of the suspension system and control mechanism for proper control of the vehicle.
  • Adding lights to project Technic, such as headlamps and rear lights.
  • Designing LEGO vehicles that look and operate like real constructions, including cranes and forklift trucks.
  • The construction of the plane with all elements together with the retractable landing gear

Who is this book for?
LEGO Technic is in practice an ideal book for all LEGO enthusiasts and builders, regardless of their age and experience, who want to learn the principles of creating a structure using LEGO Technic.
