Here's a nice solution for retaining your canopies and hatches. This is a springloaded canopy latch, it features a brass body with splines to prevent the latch from rotating once epoxied in place.

The locking pin is 2mm in diameter and 5mm in length, the overall body length is 20mm. The release lever is 13mm in length.
