Description of the operation of the signaling system No. 7, constituting the basic digital multi-channel signaling system containing a set of control information exchange protocols in telecommunications networks. The functions, construction and set of protocols of the signaling system no. 7, principles of building and planning the signaling network, application of this signaling system in fixed telephony, ISDN and mobile networks, use of signaling in intelligent and broadband B-ISDN networks, development of signaling in order to use it in next generation networks. Issues regarding broadly understood network management were also taken into account.
