A set of printed circuit boards for PIC microcontrollers

The ZL2PIC development kit has been developed for users of PIC microcontrollers in DIP18 enclosures (eg PIC16F84, PIC16F627), DIP28 (eg PIC16F72, PIC16F76, PIC16F876, PIC18F242) and DIP40 (eg PIC16F877, PIC18F442). It allows you to develop a variety of projects that you can test before a printed circuit board is designed for them. It is also possible to design specialized microprocessor controllers built with the use of a set.

The set consists of three plates: a base plate, LED display boards and LCD display boards with 16 buttons. The boards can be connected with a 10-wire flat cable.

The ZL2PIC kit was used to test the examples described in the book "Programming PIC microcontrollers in C".

The main plate of the set includes:

• stands for microcontrollers in DIP18, DIP28 and DIP40 enclosures;
• serial EEPROM 24C04 memory controlled by the I2C bus;
• real-time RTC clock PCF8583 with a 32,768 kHz oscillator controlled by the I2C bus;
• MAX202 TTL / RS232 level converter with DB9 connector;
• two PCF8574 (A) ports controlled by the I2C bus;
• connector to connect the ICSP programmer (eg ZL12PRG);
• on the LCD display board it is possible to mount a 2x16 characters LCD display and 16 buttons;
• on the LED display board, four 7-segment displays can be mounted.
