Description

The RS232/485/422 to CAN converter is a device enabling conversion and communication between the RS232, RS485, RS422 interfaces and the CAN interface. CAN communication is compliant with the CAN 2.0B specification (extended frame) and compatible with the CAN 2.0A specification (standard frame), which ensures a wide range of applications in communication systems. Thanks to the ability to configure the transmission speed and support for 14 sets of configurable filters, the converter works perfectly in a variety of scenarios, providing flexibility in communication.

The device offers 4 operating modes: transparent conversion, transparent conversion with identifiers, format conversion and Modbus RTU protocol conversion. It also has a CAN buffer, which increases its ability to handle large amounts of data. Additional features such as built-in power isolation, digital isolation, TVS, 15KV ESD isolation protection, and 600W lightning and surge protection make the converter not only versatile but also reliable even in harsh environmental conditions.

The RS232 interface features a DB9 female connector, and the RS485/422 interface uses a screw connector, supporting up to 32 nodes (RS485) or up to 256 nodes (RS422), with transmission speeds ranging from 1200 bps to 460800 bps. Additionally, the converter has a built-in 120R terminating resistor on the RS485/RS422 port, which can be configured using a jumper.

Software updating and configuration of operating parameters are possible both via RS232/RS485/RS422 interfaces, which makes the device easy to use. LED diodes indicating the power supply and transceiver status enable a quick assessment of the converter's operating status.
