Description

Industrial converter designed for bidirectional communication between an RS485 bus and a computer equipped with a USB port. The design utilizes the FTDI FT230 controller compliant with the USB 2.0 standard and an industrial-grade ST485BDR transceiver, providing stable half-duplex data transmission at speeds of up to 1 Mbps. The converter is suitable for industrial automation, measurement systems, PLC controllers, telemetry equipment, and monitoring systems using the RS485 interface.

The device features full 1 kV galvanic isolation between the USB interface and the RS485 bus, as well as surge protection circuits that safeguard connected equipment against interference and electrical damage. A built-in 120 Ω bus termination resistor can be enabled depending on the network configuration, while the ECHO function provides hardware-level transmission verification during data transmission.

The converter is equipped with a USB-C connector and a Phoenix Contact MC 3.81 mm screw terminal with A, B, and GND connections. Virtual COM Port (VCP) drivers for Windows, Linux, and macOS allow quick integration with software utilizing serial communication.
