STEVAL-IHP001V3 is a SmartPlug evaluation board designed for wireless monitoring and management of electrical energy consumption. It uses ZigBee (2.4 GHz) communication and an STM32 microcontroller, serving as a platform for smart home and building automation systems.
STEVAL-IHP001V3 is a complete ZigBee Powered Device (SmartPlug) evaluation platform that enables measurement and control of energy consumption of connected electrical loads. The board is intended for direct operation from the mains supply – installed in a socket, it powers the load while simultaneously analyzing its operating parameters.
The system is based on an STM32F10x microcontroller, a ZigBee SPZB260-PRO module, and an STPM01 energy metering IC, enabling accurate measurement of parameters such as current, power, and energy consumption.
Data can be displayed locally (e.g. on an LCD) or transmitted wirelessly to a ZigBee network coordinator (HAN – Home Area Network), enabling remote management of connected devices. The system supports both standalone operation and network mode, offering switching functionality and load control (e.g. relay/triac).
The board serves as a reference design for developing intelligent energy management systems in buildings and IoT devices.
