A compact FIR temperature sensor enabling high-precision, non-contact measurement of objects. The medical version offers an accuracy of ±0.2°C over a range of 35 to 42°C, and in extended mode, it measures temperatures from -20°C to 100°C. The sensor communicates via I2C and is mounted on a STEMMA QT board with an integrated voltage regulator for easy integration with 3V and 5V microcontrollers. Adafruit 6403
Adafruit MLX90632 is a compact, high-precision FIR infrared temperature sensor designed for non-contact measurements. It can measure the temperature of hot or cold objects without physical contact. The MLX90632SLD-DCB medical version comes factory-calibrated, offering an accuracy of ±0.2°C within 35–42°C, making it ideal for medical applications. In extended mode, it can measure temperatures from -20°C to 100°C while also monitoring the sensor’s own temperature. The sensor has a 50° field of view (FOV), optimal for measurements at close range.
The MLX90632 uses a I2C interface for easy integration with microcontrollers and single-board computers. The module is mounted on a STEMMA QT PCB, compatible with SparkFun Qwiic connectors, allowing quick connections and daisy-chaining with other sensors. A built-in voltage regulator and logic level conversion enable operation with both 3 V and 5 V systems. This makes the MLX90632 easy to use with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and similar platforms. It is ideal for medical devices, educational projects, IoT applications, temperature monitoring systems, and anywhere fast and accurate non-contact temperature measurement is required.
