The VL805 is an advanced USB 3.0 host controller designed to provide PCI Express-equipped platforms with the ability to support super-fast USB interfaces with bandwidth up to 5 Gb/s. With support for multiple transmission speeds, including high speed (480Mbps), full speed (12Mbps), and low speed (1.5Mbps), this controller enables seamless communication with a variety of peripheral devices. The VL805 offers four downward-facing ports, allowing multiple devices to be connected and operated simultaneously.
The VL805 controller is compliant with the USB 3.0 specification and the Intel Extensible Host Controller Interface (xHCI), providing full backward compatibility with USB 2.0 and 1.1 compliant devices. With a PCI Express 2.0 x 1 interface that is also backwards compatible with PCI Express version 1.0, this controller is ideal for both PC platforms and add-on cards, providing flexibility and reliability in a variety of usage scenarios.
