Description

The IoT DataLogger is a data logger that comes pre-programmed to automatically record IMU, GPS and various pressure, humidity and distance sensors. Automatically detects, configures and records data from Qwiic sensors. It is specially designed for users who only need to capture a lot of data to a CSV or JSON file. The module includes an IMU to record data from a three-axis accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer. It uses the ISM330DHCX from STMicroelectronics and the MMC5983MA from MEMSIC. Data can be time-stamped when time is synchronized with NTP, GNSS or RTC.

The module is configured via an easy-to-use serial interface via a USB Type-C connector and a 115200 serial terminal. Output is automatically streamed to both the terminal and the microSD card. DataLogger uses popular microSD cards to save plain text, comma separated files (e.g. CSV) or JavaScript Object Notation (JSON). It supports 4-bit SDIO with microSD cards formatted as FAT32, as well as older FAT16 (i.e. FAT) formats up to 32 GB.

The recorder supports data recording with low power consumption. It can be configured to take readings approximately 26 times per second with the default sensors enabled, or as slow as 1 reading per 24 hours. It has a built-in LiPo charging circuit. Thanks to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection, you can also upload data to the cloud. IoT services such as MQTT Client, MQTT Secure Client, AWS IoT, ThingSpeak MQTT, Azure IoT, HTTP IoT, and MachineChat are supported. Thanks to this, the module will be used in various IoT projects. Full documentation and usage examples are available on the product page.
