GPS module with SAM-M10Q GNSS receiver. The chip can receive data from all major positioning systems: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and BeiDou. It has derived UART and I2C interfaces. SparkFun GPS-21834
GPS module with GNSS receiver SAM-M10Q. It has a built-in chip antenna and is compatible with the L1 band in all five GNSS constellations (GPS L1 C/A, QZSS L1 C/A L1S, GLONASS L1OF, BeiDou B1C and Galileo E1B/C). The positioning accuracy is 1.5 m, the maximum update rate is 18 Hz when transmitting with one GNSS constellation (5 Hz maximum with four GNSS constellations), and the cold start time to fix is 23 seconds.
The module has a Qwiic connector with an I2C interface. In addition, for users who do not work with the Qwiic system, UART and I2C interfaces are provided on pins with a raster of 2.54 mm. The board also has a socket with a backup battery, which significantly speeds up the start of the device after a temporary power failure.
The M10Q module is the successor to the u-blox M8Q chip and a drop-in replacement with updated features that reduce power consumption by nearly half while improving performance and accuracy. The SAM-M10Q can receive up to four GNSS constellations simultaneously, which improves fix time and positioning accuracy even in areas with limited satellite view.
The configuration of the module is done through a dedicated u-center2 application. The module is also available Arduino library with numerous examples of use and a tutorial.
